Just got back from Boston to Philly - I would say of the 3 mentioned here, Amtrak has the most net positives. Yes there was definetely freight traffic - but you can walk around the train, get more seat/legroom, and most importantly you’re not deprived of oxygen like you are in planes. Much less taxing on the body. Also there’s a cafe car to spread out in.
